I thought denials would not wear me down
like metals straining against load but their repetition
pressed my endurance to its limit.
It fractured me in ways invisible to you
spreading like a crack until we are pulled apart
like metals tired of each other
where the sex hurts like the weight of a jet engine
sheared from the wing, then free falls.
