I bear sunlight like a weight, forcing sweat
from forehead, brows and armpits, drenching the shirt
just as I see your hair unfurl like a flag
in the wind, your face unflinching in the heat,
and you heading my way, boosting up the heat
to a melting point nearly vaporizing me off the concrete.
