Politicians and voters
run after money and dole-outs
like black jacks to the dead fish
thrown across the cove's clear waters.
When the fish-feeder throws up another,
the black jacks run after the catch,
bruising each other with their fins,
muddling the waters.
When the feeder leaves,
the jacks disperse
back to their cove-circling routine
like voters after each election.
